You Can't Beat the Bugaboo's Versatility
Way back before I had #3 I wrote a review for the Bob Revolution Stroller entitled (something like): "What were we thinking buying the Bugaboo??" Flash forward a year (or so) and I've changed my tune. Now that I have have a newborn (again), I must concede that the Bugaboo Frog is an incredibly versatile, sturdy and stylish stroller (even seven years later). Bugaboo is easy to use, easy to modify and easy to fold. Even after seven years of daily use with two rough and tumble boys (and a third infant boy now in the family) the Bugaboo works like a charm and can still compete in the style category at the park. Who can forget all of those Peg Perego moms who shelled out $$$ in 2003 for then then top of the line stroller only to be outshone and outstyled by the Bugaboos one year later? This is a fate that has not befallen the Bug - although the functionality and style has been updated, the original models still compete. From a functionality perspective, we absolutely love the bassinet and the easy transition to the snap and go car seat carrier. Although I prefer the Bob for two years plus, there is no question that - if you can stomach the price tag - the Bugaboo is a great stroller with staying power.
My one significant caveat on the Bugaboo is that it is not a great snow stroller (a serious shortcoming when you live in Canada). That said, few are.
Worth the money
I resisted buying the Frog but it really is worth every penny. When I saw photos of Gwen Stefani and Gwyneth Paltrow with Bugaboos I swore to NEVER get one (i.e., didn't want to pay the celebrity premium) but resisting was silly. The thing is a marvel of engineering. So many of my friends bought other strollers and now regret it and wish they had bought the Bugaboo.
This Frog Rocks...
When I first looked into buying a stroller, I thought spending over $1000 was ridiculous. And then I test drove the Bugaboo Frog. It's really lightweight, so it makes it easy for a small framed person like me to lift it up a flight of stairs. It also folds up very small - great for travel. I also bought the car seat adapters allowing me to snap on my Peg Pergo car seat directly to its frame - fantastic for trips to the mall! The storage space underneath isn't very big, but I don't carry my life around with me so it's not a big deal. I chose the Frog over the Chameleon as we have pets and the durable fabric on the Frog doesn't attract pet hair like the Chameleon. The Frog comes with two seats - a bassinet and a toddler seat for babies over 6 months. It's versatile, lightweight and stylish. It might seem pricy, but it has tremendous value. Love the Frog!!
Worht Every Penny
The Original SUV-style stroller, the Bugaboo is truly a terrific stroller. It's changed over the years, but the Frog is still the only one you'll need. It's durable, it's a smooth ride, it's beyond easy to drive - even one-handed and of course it's easy on the eye. People have been giving it a bad rap but I have to see it really is worth every penny. It's the only stroller I needed and (after some practise) I can collapse and load it with one hand. My older son is 3 - and massive - and still goes in it. It may be pricey, but it's the best! The only bad thing is it spoiled me for any other stroller. Now I have two kids and none of the doubles come even close!
