So far so good
We were aprehensive about moving our prescious cargo to the bigger seat so our choice of car seat was very thought out. We found the marathon the best made and it appeared to be excellent construction wise. We had some trouble with rear facing installation. It was not as easy to make a proper fit. The front facing installation however is wonderful. We opted to buy it given we only need rear facing for a few more months and we can go forward. Our little man loved it. It sits high so he can see the world go by. He seems to sleep in it just fine. His head does tilt to the side but never flops forward. He has no trouble catching naps in the Marathon. One complaint is the new seat cover seems to make him sweat a little but we have a new cover on order online ( you can get such cool prints for covers with different material) We hope that solves our problem. So far we find it very easy to use. Top pick in user friendly and we had several seats in our living room that we tested for a day. The marathon came out on top!!
I would definately say buy one. We love ours.
Love it!
Absolutely love it. Though we spent the extra money for quality we love the extra little details like the velcro pads for the buckles so when you put them in you don't have to pull them out from underneath and wake a sleeping baby. Our baby who screamed consistently in the bucket seems to enjoy this seat much better. Better view I guess. Easy to install in the car and light enough to carry from car to car if need be. Also great weight range.
Wonderful Carseat
We love this seat. We bought it when our oldest daughter who is averge size and turning 4 this week was a year old. She loves it. She likes that she can see outside the window and it's very comfortable. We have been on multiple long 8+ hour trips and she sleeps so well. I completely recommend the seat to everyone. It is pricey, but worth every cent. I am actually looking to buy a second for my newest addition. They have a policy that if the seat is in an accident, they will replace it for free. Can't beat that. It is a little big. I had the seat in a ford taurus and now my new toyota hylander and it fits great in both. My husband had it in his nissan maxima and now his honda accord and it fit great. This is the best seat avaiable and you won't be sorry you purchased it.
Costly but worth it

We have had this car seat for the past several months, and have just switched to forward facing. Yes, this is a VERY expensive car seat and that is going to turn a lot of people away immediately but we feel our baby is worth the best we can get. The Marathon get high marks for ease of use. The manual is very clearly written making installation easy (I'd still recommend going to a clinic to ensure it's done right) We used the LATCH system and it was very easy. Cinching and loosening the belts was the easiest of the many (15+) car seats we tried (some retailers will let you take the floor model to your car to try our - take advantage of this!).
The Marathon has velcro stitched onto the belts and the side of the seat so you can keep your belts positioned for easy seating of your child (they won't sit on them). The buckle has a fabric protector underneath it so even if it gets hot from being in the sun all day, you don't have to worry about it burning your little one. Small things but it shows that Britax has put a bit of thought into the seat.
The Marathon has three reclining positions so finding a comfortable seating angle was not a problem for us)
The seat has one of the highest weight ratings for an infant seat (We were informed that the 65lb max rating is for the US only. In Canada they are only good to 45lbs, after which a booster seat must be purchased.) Lastly a large number of patterns/fabrics are available and they are very easy to take off the seat for washing.
We were so impressed with the Marathon that we purchased a second one (For reference, these were installed in a 2003 Nissan Xterra and 2003 Nissan Altima - both were a breeze to install)
Best seat out there

It may be $$$$, but sooo worth it. We used to have the Eddie bauer 3-1, after a car accidnet required us to buy new seats we bought the marathon for the baby...she who used to SCREAM when we put her in the old seat, actually slept in the marathon..no tears at all.
I love that it is easy to instal, the straps dont twist, washes up like a dream, and Looks great!
Best seat I've ever bought!
I've bought several seats for my kids and this is by far the most comfortable, safest, prettiest most versatile seat ever. I loooove it. No twisting straps...very cushy, fairly pricey but worth every last penny. Cover washes up like a dream and keeps its brand new look. I'm in love with My Ashley Floral print.
The greatest seat out there!

I have a Canadian Marathon. It is the best seat I have seen, installed or used. The weight limit is one of the highest for a convertible seat (47 pounds), the harness straps are well spaced and top slot is high to allow for tall children. The seat back is high, the built-in locking clips are easy-to-use, the straps don't twist, and little details like the plush fabric, extra padding and velcro to hold straps out of the way make for an easy-to-use and comfortable seat. It is very easy to get a good fit in many cars, even with its large size. By far my favorite on the market and worth every penny!
This is the best car seat bar none

It's awesome. the straps NEVER tangle. It's very secure and when properly installed, does not budge. Very comfy. From what I've read, it's rated high for safety but I'm not an expert on that. Expensive, but worth every penny. Downside is it's kind of big
It is plush, comfortable looking, and not difficult to install RF. It looks big, but actually takes up less room than the infant seat did.
