PRIVACY POLICY
PRIVACY STATEMENT
ThebabyScoop.com (the “Website”) is an online service that provides reviews and recommendations for baby products and services from the real experts – other parents.
The babyScoop Inc. (“we” or “us”, which includes our employees) values your privacy. We know that the way in which we use your information is important to you and we are committed to protecting your privacy. The information we collect from you will only be used in accordance with this policy. We do not sell or rent this information to any others, and only share it in accordance with this Privacy Statement.
By accessing the Website, you accept this Privacy Statement, agree to the terms, conditions and notices contained or referenced herein as well as in the babyScoop Inc. Terms of Service (the “TOS”), and you consent to collection, use and disclosure of your personal information as described herein.
What Information We Collect
We collect two types of information: (i) personally identifiable information (“PII”), which constitutes any information that can identify an individual directly or through other reasonably available means and is otherwise referred to herein as “personal information”, but does not include information deemed not to be personal information in accordance with applicable law; and (ii) non-personally identifiable information (“Non-PII”), which is also referred to as aggregate and anonymous data, or is information that would not, in and of itself, identify you. Please note that what one may initially consider to be Non-PII may, in some contexts, such as in respect of small geographic locations or communities, result in such information being attributable to you or allowing you to be identified because of the context. Please consider this when providing information.
What Information We Ask You For
When you register with the Website, you will be asked to provide us with certain PII about yourself such as your name, contact information, postal code and e-mail address, as well as demographic information such as your age and the number and age of your children. You can also import your account information from a third party to make the babyScoop registration process easier. We may at times also ask that you provide us with further information regarding your interests to enable us to provide you with a Website that will best serve your interests.
You may browse the babyScoop site and read our reviews and editorial content without registering or providing any PII. However, in order to access and receive personalized content such as special information on deals, new products, and writing your own product reviews, you are required to provide us with information such as your name and email address.
What Information We Automatically Gather
Some Non-PII is automatically collected when you visit the Website. We collect and store information related to your use of the Website, such as the pages you view on the Website, your browser type, where you came from, IP address, requested URL, browser language, referring URL, and the date and time of your visit. The Non-PII we automatically collect is used to help us provide a more relevant and useful site experience to you. This information is also used in the aggregate to perform statistical analyses of user behavior and characteristics in order to measure interest in and use of the various areas of the Website.
The Non-PII is typically collected through “cookies”. A cookie is a small piece of information that can be stored by your web browser on your hard drive. When you revisit the Website, our server will recognize the cookie and collect the aforementioned information. Our cookies do not collect your name, email address, contact information or other PII. If you are uncomfortable with this practice, you can disable all cookies through your browser settings.
What Other Information May Be Collected
