I was given a Grobag for an 18-24month old when my daughter was born. Because she was too small for it, I just let her sleep without a blanket in doubled-up sleepers for extra warmth. Now that she's a year old, and rolling all over her crib throughout the night, I think trying to get her into a Grobag or any sleeping bag now would be uncomfortable for her, and would probably keep her up at night.
If you want to use a sleeping bag for your child, I think it's best to get them in it when they're young.
